Musical instruments Gackt has mastered include trumpet, tuba, horn, euphonium, trombone, piano, guitar, bass, and percussion instruments.
He composes his own music and originally wanted to be a conductor.
He reads all his fanmail and even occasionally responds to lucky fans.
Gackt was once part of Malice Mizer, a well-known J-rock band but later went solo. Although he is no longer part of the group, he says he still loves all members of the band in their own special ways.
Gackt wrote a song called "For You" as an elegy to the late Kami (may he rest in peace), former fellow member of Malice Mizer. It may not be released to the public. (This might actually be the track "Emu~for my dear~" on Gackt's MARS album.)
Gackt says that he became psychic after a near-death experience during his childhood. He also says he used to be possessed by spirits.
Gackt's parents were very strict and only allowed him to watch educational TV programs and listen to Classical music.
Gackt says the song of his that impressed him the most was Leeca, also one of Ryuujin's favorites.
Gackt has pets - a Maine coon cat (メイン･クーン) named Mey (メイ) [read "mei"], a miniature dachshund (ミニチュア･ダックスフンド) named ルコンスタンティン・チャピー ["berukonsutantin chapii" - "BelleConstantine" or "Belle" for short, after the BelleConstantine Chapel in France - Ryuujin] who passed away in 2007, and a long-haired white chihuahua named エネル [eneru - "Ener"]. Dears: Gackt's Official Fanclub

Dears is Gackt's official fanclub. Gackt's official website provides an explanation of fanclub benefits (Japanese only) and allows fans to send comments and requests to Dears. At the moment, they are not accepting overseas members (i.e., members living outside of Japan), but they are working on it. Save Our Dears

Save Our Dears is a charity produced by Gackt that was originally created to assist the victims of a 6.8 magnitude earthquake that struck Niigata Prefecture in northwest Japan on July 16, 2007.

Save Our Dears Goods include a personalized pink crystal keychain, as well as bracelets featuring the characters ryuu (龍) - "dragon" - and bi (毘) - "assist" - similar to that worn by Gackt in his role as Kenshin Uesagi in Furinkazan, each for ¥ 10,000.

Save Our Dears also offers two Mastercard credit cards (Dears Card UPty and Save Our Dears Card UPty) that feature a photo of Gackt from the "RETURNER ~Yami no Shuen~" single; both of these cards have a yearly ¥ 1500 membership fee, ¥ 1000 of which is earmarked for the Save Our Dears charity.

Funds raised by the Save Our Dears are used for charity efforts throughout Asia.

DARTS (Darkside Inhabitants)

DARTS, or Darkside Inhabitants, is the name of Gackt's silver accessories brand, featuring several lines by a number of different designers under the company name Chimaera Crew.

Designers involved in Chimaera Crew are Motohiro Takahashi, Houryuu Gon, Gigor [Jigorou] Arakawa, and Tatsuhiro Hara.

The U.S. site for DARTS is DARTS of New York.

S.K.I.N.

S.K.I.N. is the name of a "superband" Gackt formed with three other popular Japanese rock musicians: Yoshiki (ex-X Japan), Sugizo (ex-Luna Sea), and Miyavi (solo artist).
